2011 Cadillac ELR Concept
The 2011 Cadillac ELR Concept will feature an electrical propulsion system made up of a T-shaped lithium ion battery, an electrical drive whole, and a four-cylinder engine-generator. It utilizes electrical energy as its primary origin to drive the car without using gas or giving tailpipe emissions. When the electrics battery energy is low, the Cadillac ELR seamlessly switches to extended-range mode to enable driving for hundreds of extra miles. Cadillac chose the name ELR to indicate the engine car electric technology, in keeping with the brand’s 3-letter international model naming convention.
